have a question for every body. My husband and I are both active duty military. We have a 8 month old son. My husband is on Oxycotin and sleep medication consistenly because he was blown up in Iraq and fractured his hip and now is unable to care for our son by himself. He is getting med board out but that wont be done for another 6 months. His hip replacement wont be done till after his meb . I am currently deployed to afghanistan and my mom who was our family care plan is no longer able to be it because she is going through a divorce and cannot watch our son. We have had to pay 3000 dollars for a live in nanny for a month already and can not afford doing that eveytime my mom leaves to go deal with her divorce. My chain of command said that that would not put me on emergency leave to go home or change my leave date so I can go home and deal with it. I just found out my mom is leaving again while I am on R and R and does not know when she will be returning. If I drop a family care plan chapter while on R and R explaining to the rear d command that my mother is gone and my husband can not watch our son by himself and our son is not currently in day care because my mother has been living in our house watching our son. Is there anything they can do to make me go back to afghanistan or will they just let me take the family care plan chapter and get out. I have a ligitiment problem with my family care plan and my chain of command doesnt seem to care. Is there anything they can do or can i just drop my family care plan and get out.
